Ilayda Dagli

This month, I am incredibly happy to introduce the talented artist Ilayda Dagli, who not only shines as a photographer and interdisciplinary artist but is also one half of the dynamic DJ Duo Buttmoney. 

Her practice is rooted in photography and includes sound, sculpture and installation. Her work centers around her family’s lived experience of immigration as source material to explore the complexities of diasporic life but she also likes to explore different topics for her inspiration. 

She defines her own visual language through her photography and installations focusing on atmosphere and mood. She also expresses her creativity through the local dj scene. Coming from her turkish roots she brings new momentum to the scene with breaks, baile bass and polyrhythmic beats djembe mixed with hip hop and Turkish/Arabic influences
